I have added a new page in anticipation to the release of the Labyrinth (I hate spelling this word!), the next expansion past the Fungal Cavern. I’ve uploaded a few screenshots that Dave posted on the forums, and I’ll be adding a running commentary of my own findings as the new area is released.

Based upon what was posted in the Mousehunt Chat Room, many of us feel the content will be released tomorrow, September 9, probably 11am EST (-5 GMT). The Facebook page will probably update faster than my page will (as I may be in a meeting at that time), but you know I’ll offer my thoughts and opinions as soon as I can!

The devs have released another nice addition to the game, a nifty little feature called “The Adventure Book.” At its core, the Adventure Book keeps track of main game progression in the form of “quests,” and rewards you with gold, points and sometimes king’s credits for completing them.

The Adventure Book can be opened by clicking the banner at the top of your hunter’s journal, and each task is sorted by rank. If you’re an experienced hunter, you may have already completed most of these tasks. In that event, you’re in luck! You get the rewards retroactively! All you need to do is claim them!

One thing I need to mention: The Adventure Book gave the devs a reason to “Clean Up” a lot of low hanging fruit in the game, polishing a few things here, changing a few things there. In short, some of the changes will impact the walkthrough portion of my guide. I do plan on re-visiting some of those older sections and will modify them as needed. If you see out-dated advice thanks to this update, please just drop me a kind note and I’ll update the section as soon as I can. Mousehunt is an evolving game and sometimes old sections get outdated. 🙂

• Removed all travel costs
• King’s Gauntlet Floorplan now sold at Bazaar instead of the Harbour
• King’s Gauntlet now requires the title of Hero
• Master Burglar mice now only drop Crown Jewels in the Bazaar where they’re trying to sell their haul of jewels

* If a hunter already owns the Sandtail Call to Arms, they technically will not receive a second one upon claiming the adventure, although the claim message will state they they did receive one

** Mobile hunters will need to download the latest mobile update (1.19.2) to see the various changes to the Windmill.

During this mini-event all mice that drop Sand Dollars will drop an extra one!

Dropped by mice in Sunken Treasure zones

The seismic activity of the magma eruptions has unearthed a stash of special crates inside of Sunken Treasure zones. These crates are dropped by Treasure Keeper and Treasure Hoarder mice found in Sunken Treasure Zones and contain lots of Sand Dollars as well as a few fishy crafting items. If you’re lucky, you may even find something a little more… “Ultimate”.

Dropped by Ancient of the Deep mice in Monster Trenches

These glowing crates drifted downstream directly from the massive Magma Flow itself. They were quickly grabbed by Ancient of the Deep mice within Monster Trenches and are now being closely guarded by those fearsome mice. Inside you’ll find loot similar to that found during Magma Flows including Unstable Charms, Anchor Charms, and orbs. If you’re lucky, you may also find something even more valuable including Ultimate Charms, Fire Salt, or even a Predatory Processor!

Found inside Sunken Treasure and Ancient Dive Crates, Loyalty Chests, and as free Daily Gifts

Use these charms while diving at the Sunken City to scrape the ocean floor for treasures! Each hunt taken with a Treasure Trawling Charm will dig up some sort of loot including Oxygen Canisters, Sand Dollars, Barnacles, Mousescales, and Coral Fragments. If you’re lucky, these charms may even unearth something even more valuable such as Anchor Charms, Water Jet Charms, and more!

Crafted using Predatory Processors, rare find using Trawling Charms and rare inside of Treasure and Dive Crates

Amidst all the diving excitement, Mustachio has discovered how to craft a powerful new charm! The Ultimate Anchor Charm features a heavy metal anchor powered by a Predatory Processor. It combines the properties of both an Anchor and Ultimate Charm, slowing your sub while guaranteeing the capture of a mouse.

The metal anchor in this Ultimate Charm is powered by a Predatory Processor! The Ultimate Anchor Charm not only slows down your submarine while diving, it also guarantees the capture of the next mouse you encounter! As powerful as this mighty charm is, the unstable energy of the processor is barely able to hold this charm together and, as a result, there’s a chance of it being consumed each time you use it while hunting.

I have finally finished the Fungal Cavern portion of the guide. Here are the next things on my “to do” list:

1. Mini-guide for “how to maximize points.”
2. Refine the section on “How to make gold.”
3. Add a new mini-guide that helps hunters maximize the use of their King’s Credits
4. Re-do the page on Physical Traps and lay it out in a different order.
5. Ditto for Tactical Traps.
6. Split out Forgotten, Law and Rift traps on their own page.
7. At some point, add a section for Charms (but man this is daunting and tedious). If anyone wants to help me do task #7, please let me know.

So, I am an idiot apparently. I got a new phone about 6 weeks ago. And I’ve been noticing a lack of notifications from the site despite a lot of traffic. Well, as it turned out, I did have WordPress installed on my new phone but my login information wasn’t transferred (which is odd because all my other login information for other apps did move over).

Another new area is on the horizon! May 12, 2015 will be the opening of the newest Duke-level hunting area, the Fungal Caverns! As I venture into this location later today and start figuring out what’s going on, I’ll add my findings to the new Fungal Caverns page here on the site. Keep it here for all my information that I discover!

Here are Larry’s updates about what’s happening!

Larry’s Cavern Report #1: The entrance of the cavern is the site of an underground aquifer. The arid desert air soaks up the water, causing the walls to sweat with humidity. Within this damp environment, fungus and other plant life seem to flourish, although they’re quickly snatched up by the somewhat amphibious mice here.

I’ve collected some plant samples and am continuing to venture further into the cavern. Small, dark passages lie ahead…

Larry’s Cavern Report #2: Moving further into the cavern, the lack of light has prevented the growth of much plant life. However, these narrow passages are rich with minerals!

Some traces of water are present, however, the cooler, drier air has made the mice much less dependent on water.

Larry’s Cavern Report #3: I’ve moved past the narrow, mineral-rich passageways and the cavern has opened up once again. Despite the dim lighting, I’ve spotted sparkling gemstones! The great riches here would make for quite the welcoming environment, if it were not for the fact that the mice here have become increasingly aggressive!

Larry’s Cavern Report #4: It’s clear that these long forgotten and ancient mice are not welcoming my presence! After pressing further into the cavern I’ve found even greater treasures! Diamonds sparkle in the walls, illuminated by light let in by tiny cracks in the ceiling.

Some crumbling walls have revealed a passage way with an eerie glow ahead.

Larry’s Cavern Report #5: This will be my final report. The usual dull sounds that echo throughout the cavern have now come to a dead silence. I can’t shake the feeling I’m being watched by something… I must return to Gnawnia to share my findings with the King before the ancient mice here are my undoing.

I have started on the Whisker Woods page, I just keep getting side-tracked because of my very busy work and personal schedule! The nerve!

I am also possibly looking for someone to help me write up the guide on all the charms in the game – yeah, that’s a big task! If you’re interested (no I can’t pay you, LOL, but I will give you credit!) in helping me, drop me a note here or email me (my address is on the “About” page above). So…..it’s been 2 months since the Whisker Woods has been released, and I still haven’t carved out time to write up that portion of the guide. I promise, I will get to it!

We are right in the middle of the Spring Egg Hunt! Hunt down those eggs all across the kingdom to find unique rewards! After the egg hunt, many of us at the MouseHunt Century Club have theorized that an expansion to the Fiery Warpath might be due, or some sort of underground realm past that location. It’s just theory at this point based upon the hints shared in Art Feedback Fridays recently. The Devs have also said that an expansion to Varmint Valley is on the horizon at some point as well.
